Heritage Rides

Windsor Carriages Long Walk ©Simon Hurry

This Heritage carriage ride offers a timeless and enchanting experience along the iconic Long Walk, with breath-taking views of Windsor Castle, enjoyed by royalty for centuries and exclusively shared with guests of Windsor Carriages by  licence since 1869.

Start your journey by meeting your guide and carriage at the allocated meeting point. Step into your horse-drawn carriage just outside Windsor Castle and travel down The Long Walk, an iconic tree-lined avenue created by King Charles II in 1680.

Your dedicated guide will share stories of the Windsor Great Park’s rich history and introduce you to the horse and human team that continue this time-honoured tradition.
There will be a pause during the ride for photos with Windsor Castle as your backdrop. Your guide will capture moments using your phone.

The covered carriage ensures warmth and keeps you dry throughout the entire ride, providing shade in the summer. It is however recommended to check the weather before visiting and dress appropriately for this outdoor activity.
