Thames Valley History Festival

The Thames Valley History Festival celebrates more than 2,500 years of British history. Through a mixture of talks and discussions as well as guided walks, children’s activities, and historical re-enactors, we have something for everyone, young and old.

Our home is the historic town of Windsor, but our event-range is the ever vibrant and historically eclectic Thames Valley, covering the areas around Slough, Windsor, Eton, and Maidenhead.

The TVHF is an annual festival uniquely dedicated to British history, and as the British Empire stretched across the globe, that gives us plenty of scope. We encompass a wide variety of historical interests, military to family history, local history to biography, and historical fiction. They are all important to us. We are keenly interested in re-enactors and living history and hope in time to include this as part of an education programme with local schools.

We are an unfunded, not-for-profit festival, run by historians and those passionate about our history. We rely on ticket sales, occasional grants, and the generosity of churches, schools, small local businesses, and others to ensure great venues. Sponsoring an event doesn't have to mean huge sums of money, if you are a suitable venue, then it can mean using the venue free of charge. If you love history and enjoy the festival, please think about sponsoring one of our events. If you are not sure, then please get in touch; we are open to discussion. Email:
