The Royal Meeting Begins!
At precisely 2pm, Her Majesty The Queen and members of the Royal Family arrive in a magnificent procession ahead of an afternoon of world-class racing, spearheaded by three impeccable Group 1 contests. The stage is set for an extraordinary five days.
Anticipation is high on the opening day of the Royal Meeting and for the racing purist, this is undeniably the most unmissable day of the whole week.
Tuesday’s card is literally overflowing with class. It features The Queen Anne Stakes - Royal Ascot’s traditional curtain raiser, in which the great Frankel delivered his most sensational performance in 2012, The King’s Stand Stakes - one of the world’s most prestigious sprints, and The St James’s Palace Stakes - which consistently attracts some of the best milers from the Classic generation.
This is also a perfect day for socialising, with a host of superb dining options to choose from. Whether your preference is a three-course à la carte luncheon, gourmet picnic, Champagne afternoon tea or Fine Dining in one of our many restaurants, you are guaranteed an exceptional experience on one of the finest day’s racing of the year.
