CANCELLED Royal Free Singers: Rossini - Petite Messe Solennelle

7:30 pm Saturday, 4 April 2020

Born in 1792, Rossini composed 36 operas and earned a fortune by the age of 37.  He then wrote almost nothing until the age of 55 when he finally settled in Paris and wrote a number of pieces including Petite Messe Solennelle, which has been described as lively, catchy and almost operatic in style.

Although the work was later written for full orchestra, the Royal Free Singers will perform it in its original version, with two pianos and harmonium.

Advance rate ends an hour before the performance. Full price on the door £18.00

Programme available on the evening, £1, cash only
